The faculty and staff at BLES would like to have a good relationship with the parents of all of our students.  However, problems will arise and we want to be sure that the parents and educators follow certain guidelines and work together as a team to solve any problem.  The following questions and answers are listed to help you know what steps should be taken if there is a problem with your child.

Where do I start when my child has a problem? It is always best to go to your child’s teacher.  He/she will usually have the most information concerning the problem.  If a discussion with the teacher leaves you unsatisfied, please follow the “chain of command” listed below.

When a problem arises, should I call the school or go there in person?  If the problem is minor it can usually be handled successfully by telephone.  If the problem is more serious then speaking with someone in person is better.  Please be sure to call and make an appointment or be sure that the person you wish to meet with is available.

What is the best way to contact a teacher about a problem? Let the teacher know by phone, a note in the agenda or e-mail that there is a problem you need to discuss with him/her.  If a talk with the teacher leaves you unsatisfied, please follow the “chain of command” to bring the matter to the next level.

What is the best way to contact the principal?  You should also let the principal know by note or a phone call that you wish to meet with him.  Your child’s teacher will probably be asked to sit in on the discussion so that a team effort can be made to solve any problems.

The parents, teachers and administrators are all on the same side and wish the best for the children of BLES.  Please do not hesitate to contact us (532-1155) if a problem should arise.
